It seems that the only thing that can be counted on lately when it comes to government affairs is constant, unpredictable change.

NAA, IREM, NMHC and NARPM recently teamed up to develop a mental health resource library for the rental housing industry, in light of the changes and unique pressures COVID-19 has brought to our industry and lives in general. If you're experiencing isolation, anxiety, financial stress or trouble with resiliency, check out their library. The Isolation and Resiliency resources are available now, with the rest to come later this month.

The four communities are Meridian Watermark (Richmond), Impressions (Newport News), Denbigh Village (Newport News) and Marina Villa (Norfolk), and were purchased by CAPREIT.
Riverbend Apartments, a 218-unit community off Route 17 in Gloucester, is now open. The Earthcraft Gold certified community boasts a luxury clubhouse, fitness center, playground, resort-style pool and grilling area.
The 65 units, to be located on the same property as Jefferson House, will be for residents aged 55 and older who are homeless or making 60% or less than the median income.
The 310-unit community would be comprised of six buildings and a plethora of amenities. Rents will be market rate, likely starting at $1200 per month for a one-bedroom.
The proposed six-story building would break ground later this year with a completion date in the spring of 2023. Most of the units will be one-bedrooms with a separate study or office area.
Holly Springs Apartments and Swansboro Apartments are scheduled to receive major upgrades this year, with South Gate Apartments scheduled for rehab in 2022. Upgrades will include new heating, air, plumbing, electrical systems, and renovated kitchens with new appliances, to total roughly $74,000 per unit.
The community, which was started in November 2019, finished ahead of schedule. In addition to 51 apartments, the community features a salon, library, dog park and more.
Local management company was successful in getting a piece of land rezoned in an often forgotten about section of Virginia Beach. The property will become home to 220 affordable apartment homes.
