ASCO has published a new position statement on Optometry Graduates’ Clinical Competencies.
 
In collaboration with the National Board of Examiners in Optometry (NBEO®), the Association of Schools and Colleges of Optometry (ASCO) has posted the pass rates for every optometric institution available on its website.
 
Deadline to submit nominations is January 14, 2022.
 
Deadline to submit essays is February 18, 2022

For the third consecutive year, The Ohio State University College of Optometry has received the Health Professions Higher Education Excellence in Diversity (HEED) Award from INSIGHT Into Diversity magazine, the oldest and largest diversity-focused publication in higher education.
 
The Pennsylvania College of Optometry (PCO) at Salus University was officially presented with the National Optometric Association (NOA) 2021 School of the Year award during the University’s inaugural DEI Speaks event hosted on the University’s campus last month.
 
As UC Berkeley’s general community returned to in-person work this fall, the faculty at UC Berkeley's Herbert Wertheim School of Optometry & Vision Science assisted in the effort to vaccinate students, staff and faculty.
 
Dr. Glen Steele, the longest-serving faculty member at Southern College of Optometry, was recently inducted into the Tennessee Independent Colleges and Universities Association’s Hall of Fame. Dr. Steele’s induction came alongside 24 alumni from private schools across Tennessee.
