Regarding FY2022 appropriations, the clock is ticking for Congressional action, as the current Continuing Resolution (CR) funding the government at the FY2021 level in FY2022 expired December 3. Rumors abound about a second CR to expire at year’s end or even into February 2022. House and Senate leaders currently have not come to agreement on top-line spending, as well as that for defense discretionary spending in relation to domestic discretionary spending. NAEVR has joined with colleagues in urging Congress to finalize FY2022 appropriations, as a CR can have a chilling impact on research, in terms of agencies funding grants or starting new programs.
