National Board of Examiners in Optometry Pass Rate Data Published

In collaboration with the National Board of Examiners in Optometry (NBEO®), the Association of Schools and Colleges of Optometry (ASCO) has posted the pass rates for every optometric institution available on its website. The data for 2021 is found here. Reports beginning from the 2016-2017 academic year are also posted for comparison.

“NBEO is pleased to provide this data. These results are from calculations using candidates’ scores who have both graduated during the 2020-2021 academic year and attempted all three parts of the exam at least once,” said Dr. Jill Bryant, NBEO Executive Director. “This information provides a consistent reporting mechanism as we continue to work with ASCO.”

“The pass rates from the 25 schools and colleges of optometry in the US and Canada provide important information, and we are happy to post to the ASCO website,” said Dr. Kelly Nichols, ASCO President. “I know I speak for every faculty member in saying we are passionate and committed to educate each optometry student with the skills and knowledge to pass boards and ultimately enter into optometric practice.”
