Insider Report
Time is running out to nominate your best 2016 paving project for the VAA "Virginia's Best" Paving Awards. The prestige associated with winning a Virginia’s Best Paving Award pays big dividends from a marketing standpoint. Winners are not only recognized in front of their peers at the Fall Asphalt Conference, they are featured on the VAA website homepage, in the VAA membership directory, in the VAA newsletter (Asphalt News) and in the VAA Magazine (Virginia Asphalt). So, if you have a great project, don't hesitate, nominate! To complete the nomination information for the Virginia’s Best categories, visit our website. The deadline for nominations is August 1, 2017.
Members, join VAA as we host an informal session with: Garrett Moore, VDOT Chief Engineer and Other VDOT Central Office & District Senior Management. VDOT is the single largest customer for the asphalt industry. More than four million tons of mix per year is provided for use on VDOT projects or to VDOT directly. Beyond this tonnage, VDOT specifications and guidelines impact most of the non-VDOT tonnage produced in the state. By having such a big impact directly and indirectly, it is important that companies understand what VDOT wants and that VDOT understands what companies can provide. Through formal and informal meetings, this exchange of information can strengthen the partnership between each entity.
