We will kick off the conference with the SCAPA Trade Show Reception, on Wednesday, February 9, followed by a full agenda on February 10. Registration Deadline is January 26th!

Partners in Quality (PIQ) is a partnership program between SCAPA's Producer Members and the South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT), typically held annually in the winter.

The program started this month in SCDOT District 2 in Greenwood, SC.

Check out FMI's annual review of the Construction Materials (CM) industry – FMI’s assessment of the highs and lows of 2021 and how they will impact trends heading into 2022 and beyond.

Looking ahead, funding from the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA) combined with strong momentum from the residential sector should fuel the CM industry for the foreseeable future. SCAPA Members, please Save the Date for both the SCAPA Spring Member Dinner and Legislative Day in Columbia, SC. The SCAPA Spring Member Dinner will be on Tuesday, April 26, 2022. The SCAPA Legislative Day will be the following day, Wednesday, April 27, 2022. Registration will open next month for this two-day event.

 
  
SCAPA Executive Director Jayson R. Jordan, PE joined 70+ engineers in Columbia this month at the SC Statehouse to celebrate Engineers Day on the Hill.

The National Center for Asphalt Technology (NCAT) conducted a round-robin study to assist with the implementation of mixture performance testing for balanced mix design (BMD) efforts.

The study was conducted to help participating labs benchmark their results against a large body of data, as well as to collect preliminary data on the variability of the different tests.

 
  
The 2022 SCDOT certification course schedule has been released. Online registration is available on TCTC's website at www.tctc.edu/scdot.
The site will have only one of each course type available for registration at a time, so not all of the sections will show as available.

 
  
SCAPA Technical Director Kimberly Lyons, Ph.D. will provide training on the recently updated Asphalt Pavement Design Guide for Low-Volume Roads and Parking Lots. This webinar will be held on Tuesday, March 1, 2022. It is open to the public and is focused on engineers, project managers and other asphalt industry workers.
The deadline to register is Friday, February 25, 2022. The training is $25 and will include one Professional Development Hour.
