The Daily Star reports that increasing export of paper and tissue has created a window for local mills to utilize their huge unused capacity and bring home foreign currency. Currently, domestic demand accounts for well less than half of the country’s mills’ capacity. Under the circumstances, the opportunity for export, which opened nearly a decade ago and gradually expanded, has become a boon for the capital-intensive paper industry.

China’s Sichuan Yibin Paper Industry has started up a new 25,000-metric tpy tissue machine at its mill in Yibin city, Sichuan province. This is the fourth tissue machine to have come online at the site. The first three were commissioned one after another between September and December. The fifth is expected to be fired up very soon. All five machines are from A.Celli Paper. Each has a width of 2.8 m and a design speed of 1,800 m/min.
