Exports Prove a Boon for Bangladesh Paper Mills

The Daily Star reports that increasing export of paper and tissue has created a window for local mills to utilize their huge unused capacity and bring home foreign currency. Currently, domestic demand accounts for well less than half of the country’s mills’ capacity. Under the circumstances, the opportunity for export, which opened nearly a decade ago and gradually expanded, has become a boon for the capital-intensive paper industry.
