China’s Hengan Fires up 24,000-metric tpy TM in Fujian

China’s Hengan International has begun trial runs on a new tissue PM at its mill in Jinjiang city, Fujian province.

The first sheet of paper rolled off the line in early February. Provided by domestic supplier Shandong Xinhe Paper Making Engineering, the unit has a trim width of 3.05 m and a design speed of 500 m/min. Dubbed PM 3, it can produce up to 24,000 metric tpy of tissue  to be converted into hand towels.

The Jinjiang mill also operates five bigger tissue PMs with a combined capacity of 300,000 metric tpy. Boasting a total of around 1.45 million metric tpy of tissue capacity, Hengan is ranked as the second largest producer in the sector in China.
