Association & Industry News
For the first time in nearly a decade, NRMCA will release an Executive Summary of its seminal financial survey, the Performance Benchmarking Survey (PBS). The PBS is an annual survey of NRMCA Producer members conducted in strict accordance with federal antitrust guidelines that tracks producer performance on a wide range of metrics. The survey is free for NRMCA members to participate in; distribution of the full survey is limited to participants. However, the Business Advancement Committee, with the assistance of Bob Capasso of Concrete Financial Insights, has produced an Executive Summary available to all NRMCA members. This summary can be found in the Members Only section of NRMCA’s website. For more information, contact Andrew Tyrrell at atyrrell@nrmca.org. Buildings
![]() Earlier this month, NRMCA Senior Director, Building Innovations, Frank Mruk attended the Rhode Island Builders Association's (RIBA) annual summer outing at Kempenaar’s in Middletown RI, to promote ICF construction. (Mruk is shown here at right along with RIBA members Tanner Tribolet, past president of CSI Rhode Island and Jacqueline Page, a past president of RIBA and current board member.) More than 300 contractors attended the event. RIBA was founded in 1945 as a not-for-profit organization and has become one of the nation’s largest local trade associations dedicated to serving the housing industry. It has nearly 1,000 member companies throughout Rhode Island and is an affiliate of the National Association of Home Builders. NRMCA continues to engage with construction industry professionals to promote the benefits of concrete construction solutions. For more information, contact Frank Mruk at fmruk@nrmca.org.
Learning & Development
![]() On Thursday, August 7, the 24 members of the 2025 - 2026 Developing Industry Leaders cohort attended their first virtual workshop with master trainer Donna Kopf of NRMCA Producer member Chaney Enterprises. Participants learned about communication styles, behavior motivations, attitudes about change and reactions to stress in the workplace through the DiSC assessment. If you’re curious about DiSC and how it might benefit you and your team, please visit this website. NRMCA and DIL thank Donna Kopf for sharing her time, effort and expertise, and for creating the foundation for a successful program! Join us on Saturday, October 11, at PopStroke Orlando to celebrate CONCRETEPAC’s Fore Tee-Fifth birthday and be a part of the PAC’s most anticipated event of the year. This event was intentionally scheduled for the evening after the National Mixer Driver Championship and is the perfect way for you and your team to unwind, celebrate and connect with industry leaders, colleagues and friends. It's also a great opportunity to have fun and make a positive impact on YOUR industry. Keeping pro-industry, pro-business representatives on Capitol Hill is vital for advancing the industry’s interests in Washington. Your involvement enables NRMCA to advocate effectively on issues that impact the ready mixed concrete industry. To comply with Federal Election Commission (FEC) regulations, we need to obtain prior authorization from a company representative before we can send you detailed information about the event. Please note this authorization does not obligate you or your employees to contribute to the PAC; it simply allows us to keep you informed about upcoming events. This authorization helps ensure that we adhere to FEC guidelines and manage our communications effectively. Rest assured; the information will be used solely for this purpose. For more information, contact Heather Houck.

Government Affairs
Make plans to attend this year's Legislative and Policy Forum to be held September 17 - 18 in Washington, DC, to advocate for the concrete industry on Capitol Hill. We’ll join our partners at the National Stone, Sand & Gravel Association and the National Asphalt Pavement Association to lobby on issues critical to our joint industries, including the upcoming surface reauthorization and NRMCA’s critical truck weights provision. NRMCA members will have the opportunity to speak with their Members of Congress about the FRESH Act – legislation that would give states the right to allow loaded mixer trucks to travel at state weight limits on federal roads. If your state has higher weight limits for state roads than for federal highways then we need you to come to Washington and tell Congress about the importance of this legislation. Legislative advocacy is an important effort that requires the engagement of every member, and you have the help and guidance of NRMCA, NSSGA and NAPA’s talented Government Affairs staffs to help you prepare for Hill Day. Click here to register, then select Hill Day Only Pass for the NRMCA portion of the fly-in. The fly-in will include how-to presentations and prepare attendees to meet with their Members of Congress.
