Association & Industry News
Join us on Saturday, October 11, at PopStroke Orlando to celebrate CONCRETEPAC’s Fore Tee-Fifth birthday and be a part of the PAC’s most anticipated event of the year. This event was intentionally scheduled for the evening after the National Mixer Driver Championship and is the perfect way for you and your team to unwind, celebrate and connect with industry leaders, colleagues and friends. This is a great opportunity to have fun and make a positive impact on YOUR industry. Keeping pro-industry, pro-business representatives on Capitol Hill is vital for advancing the industry’s interests in Washington. Your involvement enables NRMCA to advocate effectively on issues that impact the ready mixed concrete industry. To comply with Federal Election Commission (FEC) regulations, we need to obtain prior authorization from a company representative before we can send you detailed information about the event. Please note this authorization does not obligate you or your employees to contribute to the PAC - it simply allows us to keep you informed about upcoming events. This authorization helps ensure that we adhere to FEC guidelines and manage our communications effectively. Rest assured; the information will be used solely for this purpose. We are currently looking for hole sponsors, game sponsors (life-sized Operation and Giant Connect Four), prize sponsors and Booze Walk Sponsors/Donors. Click here to sign up. Get you company name and logo out in front of your current and potential customers beFORE it’s too late. For more information, contact Heather Houck. Buildings
In the first half of 2025, NRMCA has expanded its environmental product declaration (EPD) program to include three additional products related to ready mixed concrete: aggregates, precast concrete and concrete masonry units (CMUs). NRMCA can now verify and publish EPDs for each of these materials, in addition to ready mixed concrete and cement.
Learning & Development
NRMCA's new Developing Industry Leaders (DIL) program needs your support. If you are willing to partner as a mentor, be interviewed for a leadership profile or contribute your knowledge as an adjunct faculty member, please register your interest on this form. At a minimum, we need 10 more leaders like you to volunteer. More information about time commitments and expectations is included on pages 3 and 4 of this newsletter. If you have additional questions, comments, curiosities or recommendations, please e-mail Jeannette Munroe. SEO
![]() NRMCA’s Think First monthly safety initiatives feature different industry-specific safety items relevant to seasons, current topics or industry concerns. The initiatives are meant to be shared, used as a training tool, printed, posted or distributed, all of which are encouraged. This month’s issue, NRMCA’s Top 10 Safety Tips for Mixer Drivers, is seen here. NRMCA has extended the deadline for submissions for the Excellence in Quality Award through Monday, July 14. A company must be an NRMCA Producer member in good standing to participate; companies can enter as a company or a division. Applicants are asked to respond to a multiple-choice type application form. Companies or divisions that achieve a score of 75% or greater will qualify for the award and will be recognized at NRMCA's ConcreteWorks 2025 scheduled from October 10 - 12 in Orlando, FL. The NRMCA Quality Award is an important member benefit and resource:

Engineering
The following is a summary of activity at the ASTM meeting held in Toronto in June of Committees C09 on Concrete and Aggregates, C01 on Cement and E05 on Fire attended by NRMCA staff.
C09.20 Aggregates - Notes were added to ASTM C127 and ASTM C128 (specific gravity and absorption of aggregates) to reference AASHTO method T 354 that determines these properties of aggregates by the volumetric immersion method. This method cannot be included in the ASTM standards. The method does not require bringing aggregates to the SSD condition and the precision seems to be improved.
