If you are a little intimidated or unsure of how big global trends could or would have an impact on your association, you’re not alone! Presented by Sue Pine, VP of Professional Development at AH, this session will drive home the value of incorporating trends-watching into your association’s strategic planning process and provide concrete steps for integrating this when you return home.

Join us for this hand-on session on March 23, 2017 where you will have a chance to understand the difference between environmental scanning (trends-watching) and strategic planning. Attendees will hear the latest information from the ASAE Foundation Foresight Project and have a chance to have a peer-to-peer discussion relative to the potential impact of the trend and then possible responses that would drive association tactics.

Designed for any staff person who has responsibility for strategic planning and/or program development or who thinks about keeping their association relevant in the future, this nuts and bolts interactive session challenges attendees to roll-up their sleeves and walk through a process that they can replicate with their own association leaders.

The Coalition of New England Companies for Trade (CONECT) recently celebrated 25 years of service to New England’s international trade and transportation community. The highlight of CONECT’s year was the 25th Anniversary dinner event at Newport RI’s historic Rosecliff mansion during a three-day trade conference in April. Approximately 230 CONECT members enjoyed cocktails and dinner by Russell Morin Catering and live music by Mac Chrupcala’s orchestra. All Occasion Transportation handled the movement of the crowd from the newly renovated Marriott Hotel to the mansion, and the Newport CVB did a fantastic job helping with all event arrangements.

Today’s competitive environment requires organizations to develop leaders who bring a wide variety of professional and personal experience to the table. ASAE’s answer to that challenge is the Diversity Executive Leadership Program (DELP).

DELP supports individuals from under-represented identity groups to advance into the ranks of leadership in the association management profession. DELP scholars participate in an accelerated leadership program of education, mentoring and volunteer service in the association community.
