Meet PEI (formerly Meeting & Conventions PEI) is excited to invite MPI Toronto Chapter members to their Meet PEI Toronto Planners Reception on Thursday March 27, 2025, at Rodney's Oyster House. This exclusive gathering of meeting professionals will celebrate Meet PEI’s first event in Toronto since the launch of the exciting new Meet PEI brand last November.

As someone who has always had a passion for budgets – so much so that I almost pursued a career in accounting instead of event planning – I’ve come to appreciate the structured process that effective budget management entails. A well-crafted budget is not just a financial document; it serves as a roadmap that guides decision-making and prioritizes resources to achieve event goals.

Joining the MPI Toronto Chapter in 1991 was a natural step while working at Showmakers, Canada’s top event production company at the time. MPI was the gold standard for industry affiliations, and with fewer than 200 members, it provided an intimate and dynamic networking environment. Immersing myself in committee work early on, I was involved in planning meetings and special events. Without virtual platforms, all meetings were in person, fostering strong connections and a shared sense of purpose. Even then, we aimed to push boundaries, experimenting with venues, speakers, and even food choices to elevate member experiences.
