Rising Vaccination Rates and Improving COVID-19 Situation Mean Manitoba can Reopen Earlier: Pallister
Manitoba will move ahead with the first milestone of its "4-3-2 One Great Summer" Reopening Path one week early and open many businesses and facilities to 25 per cent capacity beginning on June 26, Premier Brian Pallister and Manitoba’s chief provincial public health officer, Dr. Brent Roussin announced earlier this week.

Manitobans have achieved and surpassed the first key vaccination benchmarks set out under the "4-3-2 One Great Summer" Reopening Path, with over 71 per cent of eligible Manitobans at least partially immunized and more than 27 per cent having received both doses. Together with declining COVID-19 cases, test positivity and hospitalization rates, Manitobans are now able to begin to enjoy more freedoms and fewer public health restrictions.

Dear Wise Wayne,

How can I support the efforts of Manitoba's re-opening plan?

From,
Trying to get back to normal

_____________________________________

Dear Back to Normal,

Like so many of us, we want to do our part. The Board of Directors discussed the association and industry getting back to normal post pandemic at their last meeting. Members shared companies strategies consistent with provincial messaging of “Resist & Focus on Fundamentals”. Resources related to the provincial plan may be found HERE.

Also recently announced, the Manitoba government is introducing the $30 million Healthy Hire Manitoba Program, a new wage support to help private-sector employers reopen and encourage employees to get vaccinated and return to work. More details can be found HERE.

On a positve note, Manitoba will move ahead with the first milestone of its "4-3-2 One Great Summer" Reopening Path one week early and open many businesses and facilities to 25 per cent capacity beginning on June 26. Information can be found HERE.

Testing is critical, as it helps identify and isolate cases and close contacts early. This helps to limit further spread and protect those at increased risk. Individuals experiencing COVID-19 symptoms are encouraged to isolate and use the online self-assessment tool, or call Health Links - Info Santé to help determine your next steps if you, or your child(ren), are sick.

I hope these resources help! Together we will get through this.

Sincerely,
Wise Wayne
