Health Canada would like to inform you that the CSA Group is developing a new Canadian national voluntary standard for barbecue grill brushes that will be available on the CSA Group website for a 60-day public review.

The Saskatchewan Petroleum Innovation Incentive offers transferable royalty/freehold production tax credits for qualified innovation commercialization projects at a rate of 25 per cent of eligible project costs. The program targets a broad range of innovations deployed across all segments of Saskatchewan's oil and gas industry.

Enbridge will charge its customers (other than exempt entities and large Output-Based Pricing System emitters) a carbon tax of  3.91 cents/m3 in 2019. This is a pass through of the federal carbon tax on the volume of fuel consumed by the customer. Enbridge expects this to total about $361 million in 2019 (April to December).

The Canada Revenue Agency wants your business to be ready for Canada’s carbon pollution pricing system. On July 1, 2019, the CRA began administering a fuel charge on certain businesses that produce, distribute and use certain types of fuel in the Nunavut and the Yukon.

The Canadian Propane Association/Propane Training Institute has been making a number of changes to update and modernize PTI training material, as well as ensuring that it corresponds with any changes made to codes, standards or regulations.

Free Access to CSA Standards

The CSA Group has launched an online platform that allows registered users free access to Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) safety standards published by CSA Group referenced in federal TDG regulations. Users can now log into Communities of Interest and register to find the TDG View Access site here.

The official publication of the Environmental Emergency Regulations (E2 Regulations), 2019 in the Canada Gazette, Part II, occurred on March 6, 2019. The E2 Regulations will come into force on August 24, 2019.

Recently at the CSA Technical Committee meetings on Tanks and Portable Tanks for the Transportation of Dangerous Goods, Transport Canada provided several regulatory updates. 

New editions of standards CSA B339, CSA B340, CSA B341 and CSA B342 are effective since December 31, 2018.
