CTA in Action: Government Affairs Update
"Trucks deliver all of life's essentials – including food, fuel, clothing and medicine – to California's 40 million residents every day, said California Trucking Association CEO Shawn Yadon. "However, the congestion nationwide, and in our state, is threatening our industry's ability to do that safely and efficiently – leading to delays that cost trucking and consumers billions of dollars. As we look to solve these challenges, ATRI's bottleneck analysis gives us a roadmap of where investment is needed to make sure freight, and our economy, keeps moving."

Over the past few weeks, CTA has actively participated in CARB workshops for the new Medium and Heavy-Duty Zero-Emission Fleet rule, the Advanced Clean Trucks (ACT) regulation and the Heavy-Duty Inspection/Maintenance (smog check) rule.
The policy change will allow haulers to utilize the applicable Caltrans Vehicle Inspection Report and submit it to Caltrans electronically for approval.
