The November 13th Safety Forum will feature a discussion on Best Practices as they relate to our members' goal of achieving injury and incident free work environments.
 
Four representatives from our member companies will address the current state of Chicago’s construction market and provide a 2015 forecast at an ASA event next week.
 
The Lean Construction Institute's Chicago Community of Practice is hosting this event on Thursday, November 13.

We could all use some good news about the Chicago area construction market.
 
As the construction industry continues to recover from a years-long downturn, one of the biggest challenges many firms face is the lack of available qualified professional staff and craft workers. The AGC of America conducted an exhaustive survey of construction firms to gauge the extent of worker shortages, measure their impact on the industry and how firms are coping with the challenge, and to better understand the root causes of the worker shortages.

The global BIM market is expected to grow at a compound annual rate of 17.4% between now and 2018, according to a report by Reuters. Save the dates for the Builders Education & Training Foundation's latest BIM Education Program Cycle!
 
The Builders Education & Training Foundation has scheduled two beneficial half-day seminars for project managers focusing on Project Management Success and Top Legal Risks.
 
The Construction Safety Council will again offer the 145-Hour Construction Safety Administrator Certificate Course on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from December 2 through May 14.
 
The Chicago Regional Council of Carpenters announced agreements with City Colleges, Joliet Junior College, and Triton College to pave the way for accredited carpenters to earn Associate's degrees. These initiatives will better prepare tradesworkers with the skills necessary in today's job world and advance their careers.
