Happy New Year everyone. I hope everyone had a great holiday season and you are looking forward to a successful 2017. Several of our committees have already held their first conference calls for the new year and organizing their efforts for the year.
 
 
   
ASLA National Staff met once again with the ASLA Center design and construction team to review the progress prior to the holidays. The team continues to work toward the substantial completion date and inspections are on track. Pledges to the Campaign for the ASLA Center for Landscape Architecture have reached 78.5 percent of the $1.5 million goal. Donations to the 2016 ASLA Fund total $21,760 to date, an increase of 156 percent over the same period last in 2015.
 
•The annual L.A.R.E. Review Seminar is only a few months away, scheduled for Friday and Saturday, March 17 – 18, in Orlando. If you are actively pursuing licensure, this seminar is a must! So, save the dates and keep your eyes and ears open for more info, coming soon! •"WHAT IS LANDSCAPE ARCHITECTURE?" Team up with Future Landscape Architects of America (FLAA) to find out! Starting January 5th, students have the opportunity to compete in a map designing contest. The map will highlight important and interesting places on campus and be available to all UF student

Congratulations to Florida ASLA’s President-Elect, Deena Bell Llewellyn, as she was recently voted "Chairman of the Board" of the Design Review Board of the City of Miami Beach for the 2017-2018 term! The design review board studies and reviews development and renovation projects for design excellence in architecture, landscape architecture and real estate development. Congrats Deena!!
