Ensenada is a major commercial, fishing and cruise port located in Mexico’s Pacific coast state of Baja California, approximately 110 kilometers/68 miles from the U.S. border. MSC Judith, the largest container vessel to ever call the Port of Philadelphia, docked at Packer Avenue Marine Terminal on November 17. The ship, which arrived in Philadelphia from northern Europe, has a length overall of 325 meters/1,065.6 feet, beam of 42.8 meters/140.4 feet, maximum draft of 14.5 meters 47.6 feet, deadweight of 105,017 metric tons and a container carrying capacity of 8,089 TEUs.

The Port of Oakland reports container cargo imports this October posted their largest increase in six months, jumping 9.2 percent from a year ago to 73,124 TEUs. Port officials said cargo diversions are adding hundreds of additional import containers weekly to Oakland volumes.
