The board of directors of the Jacksonville Port Authority on September 25 unanimously voted to hire longtime JAXPORT executive Eric Green as chief executive officer. The Massachusetts Port Authority (Massport) Board elected Worcester County Sheriff Lew Evangelidis chair at its meeting on September 20. John Wolfe, CEO of The Northwest Seaport Alliance, received the 2017 Connie Award presented by the Containerization & Intermodal Institute in Long Beach (CA) on September 19.

The Oregon International Port of Coos Bay (OIPCB) has received a $12,750 grant from Travel Oregon to replace picnic tables in the Charleston Marina RV Park. Travel Oregon - officially the Oregon Travel Commission  awarded a total of $400,000 for local tourism projects throughout the state. The port was one of 29 grant recipients.
 
The Oakland Athletics baseball team will relocate its headquarters to Jack London Square as part of a plan to build a new downtown ball park. The square is a key component of the Port of Oakland’s commercial real estate portfolio.
