Winners of the Best Booth and Best New Product Crystal Awards were announced at 2012 Prairie Showcase Buying Show & Convention, at Prairieland Park in Saskatoon at the Closing Night Party on January 20th.

"A lot of thought, hard work and passion go into designing the perfect booth that not only attracts buyers, but also represents your business and what it does," said Show Manager Caren Kelly, CEM. "It only makes sense to reward that effort with the recognition of Best Booth & New Products at Prairie Showcase, as difficult as the choice may be because of the many excellent displays and products that line our aisles."

Owens Corning is scheduled to announce fourth-quarter and full-year 2011 financial results on Wednesday, February 15, prior to the opening of the New York Stock Exchange.

Chalifour Canada is constructing a Retail Development Centre (RDC), a model retail store which will be built within the Chalifour London warehouse in order to display their product selection merchandised in a retail store environment.

Their merchandising team, category managers and vendors will be working together to create new retail concepts to help dealers better merchandise their stores. Dealers will have the opportunity to visit the 8,500 sq. ft. model store and see new concepts and programs and be trained in new strategies. The RDC will test planograms and merchandising strategies in a retail setting, fully merchandised with all signage and shelving, including a checkout counter.

The RDC teams will utilize the talents of students enrolled in the retail training programs of local community colleges. The RDC will also hold focus group sessions in order to test new concepts.

The project is expected to be completed by the end of the second quarter.
