Every Spring the NG9-1-1 Institute hosts the Annual 911 Honor Awards Reception in Washington, D.C. to honor the heroes, individual leaders, and outstanding groups / organizations of the 9-1-1 / public safety / emergency response community from across the United States for their achievements in the prior year. The award categories are; Citizen in Action, Government Leader, Public Safety Professional, Industry Professional, Outstanding Call Center, NG9-1-1 Awareness, and "Other."

NENA seeks volunteers to serve as Co-Chairs of the Pipeline Emergency Operations Working Group. The working group is tasked with revising the current Pipeline Emergency Operations Standard/Model Recommendation, an ANSI-candidate document.
A Working Group Co-Chair is not required to hold a NENA membership or to be a subject-matter expert. Applicants should possess administrative, facilitatory, and/or management skills related to meeting facilitation, preparation of agendas and notes, document creation and management, and overall working group discussion. Training will be provided.
NENA prefers that working groups have, at a minimum, two Co-Chairs, although three are optimal, to support the various duties of working-group management and the document-development process. More information on the Roles and Responsibilities of Working Group Chairs can be found here.
