Every Spring the NG9-1-1 Institute hosts the Annual 911 Honor Awards Reception in Washington, D.C. to honor the heroes, individual leaders, and outstanding groups / organizations of the 9-1-1 / public safety / emergency response community from across the United States for their achievements in the prior year. The award categories are; Citizen in Action, Government Leader, Public Safety Professional, Industry Professional, Outstanding Call Center, NG9-1-1 Awareness, and "Other."
