CHAIRMAN'S MESSAGE

Dear BOMA New York Members,

To begin this month’s newsletter, I would like to take a moment to reflect on our history at BOMA New York.

BOMA New York has come a long way since its founding in 1967. Today, BOMA New York serves more than 700 members, with representation from building owners, professional management firms, architects, engineers, systems consultants, construction services, elevator maintenance services, cleaning services, and many more. Since our founding, our members have played an integral role in shaping the organization to become what it is today – a powerful, passionate group of professionals that strive to make a difference in the commercial real estate industry.

As you may know, 2017 is a special year for BOMA New York. This year, we are celebrating our 50th Anniversary. To commemorate this milestone, we will be hosting a 50th Anniversary celebration on Tuesday, October 24, at The Mandarin Oriental, located at 80 Columbus Circle in New York City.  I encourage you to save the date and join me in celebration of our organization’s great successes.

Thank you for your support and enthusiasm through the years, and I look forward to continuing the legacy and success of this outstanding organization.

Sincerely,

James R. Kleeman, RPA

President of BOMA/NY

Odds are, your building is in a Business Improvement District (BID), a not-for-profit set up by the city, and run by boards made up of building owners and other neighborhood merchants and residents, to provide a wide range of services to New York neighborhoods.

BOMA urges you to write you members of Congress to protect ENERGY STAR. President Trump has proposed eliminating the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) program in the FY 2018 budget.
