We are currently accepting nominations for West Virginia "Logger of the Year." All nominations must be submitted by Tuesday, April 6.
Nominees will be evaluated based on established guidelines as indicated on the nominations form (attached). Please note that consideration will be given to the type of operation, equipment involved, the desired results, available markets, economic limitations of the logger, and limitations by the landowner specifications.
The minimum requirements for nomination of "WV Outstanding Logger" are:
All timbering operations will have "Notification Forms" on file with the West Virginia Division of Forestry.
Appropriate safety gear for eye, ear, head, foot, hand and leg protection will be mandatory for all employees as hazards dictate.
Logger must be in good standing with the West Virginia Division of Forestry.
TWO nominators need only submit one written evaluation per nominated logger and nominators may nominate only one logger. Loggers should be nominated by Region (i.e., 1, 2, or 3); the Region where they primarily work - not where they live.
All nominations and written evaluations are due April 6, 2015, to the WVFA office.
