Retailers, do you have a secret weapon? Do you know how your customers are treated when you are not there?

If you said no to both questions above, enroll in the WRLA Mystery Shopper Program and be in the know. The WRLA has enlisted a top Western Canadian researcher that will schedule your company to be shopped by an underground agent.

Shops will be scheduled twice a year, once in the spring and once in the fall, or once a quarter. Fax the below form to the WRLA office to get onboard for the first spring shop.

Industry News

Ken Jenkins, President of Castle Building Centres Group Ltd., is pleased to announce the addition of three former Rona locations to their expanding network of independent members.

This signifies a pivotal occasion for LBM owners who are seeking a truly independent alternative. Built on transparency, service, experience and an absolute focus on member profitability, Castle continues to attract successful independent entrepreneurs from across the country.

Quincaillerie Godin – Namur, Quebec
Lise Godin, owner of Quincaillerie Godin in Namur, Québec, founded the company in 1979. In 1984, and with the help of her family, they expanded into the existing 4500' location. This store would be the first of three locations, as the Godin family began establishing a strong relationship in the community.

Matériaux Godin & Fils – Grenville, Quebec
In February of 1996, Godin acquired the former Bâti-tout store in Grenville, Québec. The family becomes further involved as the three siblings become part of the growing family business. This 6500' store is well situated on the main road at the entrance of Grenville, Quebec.

Groupe Matériaux Godin – Hawkesbury, Ontario
In February of 2003, Lise Godin, motivated to grow the company, purchased the former Cashway store in L'Orignal (Hawkesbury), Ontario. The 3.5-acre property and the 11,500' store reflects the strong desire of the Godin family to reach new business opportunities, and is the perfect facility to focus on growing contractor sales.

All Weather Windows has done it again! For the second year in a row, the door and window manufacturer has been named one of Canada's 50 Best Managed Companies.

Established in 1993 and currently sponsored by Deloitte, CIBC Commercial Banking, the National Post and the Queen's School of Business, Canada's 50 Best Managed Companies is a prestigious national award program that recognizes business excellence among Canadian-owned companies with revenues of over $10 million.

To qualify for the award, a business must demonstrate world-class business practices, showing a consistent dedication to their core vision, a high value for stakeholders, and sustained growth over the year. More than that, a company must exhibit an overall level of corporate health and initiative that goes beyond mere financial success.

Gord Wiebe, CEO of All Weather Windows, has expressed pride and gratitude that the company has re-qualified for, and maintains, its 50 Best Managed Companies status. He continues to attribute the success of AWW to its core values: a philosophy that puts the customer first, a diverse and integrated team, and a belief in the value of integrity, corporate responsibility and global citizenship.

The continued administrative success of All Weather Windows can be traced to a Lean initiative that has significantly improved performance and customer satisfaction levels within the organization over the past few years.

The company also continues to promote a culture of accountability, motivating all of its team members to the highest levels of performance. As a result, All Weather Windows maintains its ability to deliver on core objectives, time and time again.

IRLY Distributors is pleased to announce Brad Olsen's promotion to Hardware Manager. Brad will oversee the procurement of hardware goods in order to supply our dealers with the right programs, keeping close control of inventory, pricing, margins and turns.

Brad has worked as IRLY's hardware buyer for 15 years, and for two years prior was working in IRLY's merchandising department.
