VTCA is seeking submissions from Contractor Members for the VTCA Contractor Safety Awards. VTCA proudly encourages its members to implement and maintain programs providing a safe work environment for their employees as well as the general welfare of the public who travel through their work zones. 
The Engineering Consultant membership of VTCA is represented by the Engineering Consultant Leadership Committee (ECLC). The committee consists of a minimum of nine members who serve three-year terms in three staggered groups of three. Three new members join every year and three either rotate off the committee or move into one of the two leadership positions of the committee.

The Contractor Leadership Committee is currently soliciting VTCA Contractor members interested in serving on the committee.  The committee will replace three seats that are set to expire this summer.  If you are interested in serving on the committee, please submit your interest or nominate another VTCA Contractor member by May 16.

National Work Zone Awareness Week (NWZAW) is a yearly event dedicated to spreading the ever-important awareness of roadway work zone safety. Thanks to support and involvement from organizations and individuals like you, the message of safety continues to grow each year.
 
In an exercise of its enforcement discretion, the Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA), within the U.S. Department of Labor, announces a temporary enforcement pause of its final rule titled, “Lowering Miners’ Exposure to Respirable Crystalline Silica and Improving Respiratory Protection.”
The costs to take DEQ’s stormwater management (SWM) and erosion and sediment control (ESC) certification exams will increase about 20% after July 1st.
