Jeff Roby Named State Alternative Project Delivery Engineer

VDOT has announced that Assistant State Alternative Project Delivery Engineer Jeff Roby will assume the role of State Alternative Project Delivery Engineer, effective November 25.

Jeff brings more than 35 years of diverse transportation experience in both the public and private sectors to this position.

His extensive VDOT experience includes 19 years in the Alternative Project Delivery Division, where he has been instrumental on high-profile projects across the Commonwealth, including the Route 29 Charlottesville Bypass and the I-64 Southside Widening and High-Rise Bridge. Notably, Jeff served as Project Manager on the Department’s first Progressive Design-Build project, the I-95 and Route 123 Interchange. Before his work at VDOT, Jeff contributed to major projects across the Mid-Atlantic while working for consulting engineering firms, including the Route 895 Connector (Pocahontas Parkway) and the widening of the Dulles Toll Road.

Jeff is also actively involved in industry leadership, serving as VDOT’s representative on the VTCA Alternative Project Delivery Committee and as Chairman of the DBIA Owner Education Subcommittee.

A highly qualified leader, Jeff is a Licensed Professional Engineer and a DBIA-certified Design-Build Professional. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Virginia Tech.
