The Virginia Transportation Construction Alliance invites you to participate in one of the most important days of the year for our industry - VTCA's Annual Lobby Day at the Virginia General Assembly.
With significant political changes in Richmond and critical issues facing our industry, your participation has never been more important.
Why You Need to Be There
The 2026 legislative session will address issues that directly impact your business, your workforce, and Virginia's economy. This is your opportunity to:
- Protect Virginia's Right to Work Law – Preserve the competitive business environment that has made Virginia a top state for business and supports our industry's 94% non-union workforce
- Meet One-on-One with Your Elected Officials – Share your perspective directly with state legislators who make decisions affecting your company
- Advocate for Transportation Funding – Ensure continued investment in Virginia's infrastructure that drives our members' success
- Address Workforce Development – Support initiatives that help solve our industry's skilled labor challenges
- Oppose Anti-Competitive Mandates – Stand united against Project Labor Agreement requirements that would exclude Virginia contractors and prioritize out-of-state labor
The Stakes Are High
With 17 new legislators in the General Assembly (54 with 4 years or less in the legislature), we must educate lawmakers about our industry's importance to Virginia's economy. Your firsthand experience and local perspective are invaluable in these conversations. Where does transportation funding come from? How long does it take to plan, design, build and inspect a road? Where does the aggregate to build roads come from? How clean is the water coming out of an mine?
Building on last year's successful Lobby Day, where VTCA members met with 23 legislators to advance critical priorities, we're ready to make an even stronger impact this year.
