Fellow members,
It's been the honor of my career to serve as the president of the VTCA and I would like to thank all of you for the support and engagement over the past year.
The Alliance is in great shape and continues to properly advocate for all of us. We are fiscally sound. We are budget conscious, but have the reserves to fight the battles we need to fight to educate lawmakers, policy makers, and the public at large.
No bigger example of this is our PLA outreach and education. The task force and staff have partnered with other organizations to meet with decision makers to educate them on the facts of mandated PLA's. We have put together commercials that tell the truthful story to the public on just how irresponsible mandated PLA's will be to the Commonwealth and those localities that put them forward. This is just an example of what the VTCA does for us.
We continue to work our strategic plan, begin an expanded emerging leaders program, educate the general assembly through extensive lobby efforts, and grow our exceptional relationship with VDOT.
Finally, I would like to say how hard Gordon and his staff work on our behalf. They are a tireless bunch of gritty, industry professionals who get things done!
My final ask of you as a member is to stay engaged. Identify young leaders of your organizations and get them involved. Help grow our membership and please let the staff and Board know how we can better serve you. It's been a pleasure and I hope to see you soon. Stay safe!
