Batch Applications for Departments

Fire departments now have the ability to submit "batch" applications, and to pay just one invoice for scheduling trainees to take the basic Structure exam online. For questions or assistance with applications, please contact testing@tcfp.texas.gov.

How To Test for the New Fire Marshal Certification

The “special temporary provision” (which will allow you to take the state certification exam without first having to take an approved course) begins next month. For important dates and details about the process, see the July 19 update on the TCFP website.

August and September Regional Meetings

Dates and locations for the upcoming regional meetings are as follows:

Members of the TFCA and its legislative consultants, Randy Cain and Adam Burklund, cover the 88th Regular Session and discuss the bills that have been passed into law and their impact on the Texas Fire and EMS organizations. Given the recent passage of SB 1413, which was signed by the Governor on May 27, 2023, and the provision that the bill is effective immediately, the TFCA wants all departments to be aware of the provisions of the bill.
