The TIA Nominating Committee makes this second report to the members. The Committee has decided to place in nomination the following members for a second term on the TIA Board of Directors.

Van spot rates fell to $2.00 per mile for the month to-date, in a typical seasonal slump. Spot freight volume hasn’t changed much since January 2018; however, there’s a lot more capacity available, so it’s easier for 3PLs to find a truck at their target price. There are still pockets of high rates, but pricing has dropped on most high-traffic lanes.

Cargo Logistics Canada Expo & Conference is North America’s only multimodal show, drawing 2,500+ delegates from across all supply chain sectors annually. The show also attracts many beneficial cargo owners, including executives from North America’s largest manufacturers and retailers, such as Best Buy, Hudson’s Bay Company, Lululemon, Toyota and more.

TIA, WIT, and Truckstop.com are seeking nominations for the 2019 Distinguished Woman in Logistics Award (DWLA). The award is intended to acknowledge and honor the contributions and accomplishments of an outstanding individual acknowledged by her peers for achievement and leadership in the field of logistics in North America. By their commitment to their profession, desire to further the industry's success and participation in civic and community affairs, DWLA award winners exemplify role models for other women seeking or advancing careers in logistics.

Anyone may nominate a candidate by completing and submitting the nomination form by February 8. Forms can be found here.Contact Lana Nichols, Director of Programs, Women in Trucking Association, at Lana@womenintrucking.org if you have questions.
