Industry News and Advocacy

Humorist Dorothy Parker once quipped, “No good deed goes unpunished.” But when it comes to TIA members, the opposite is true. In 2010, the Transportation Intermediaries Association (TIA) announced TIA 3PL Samaritan Award to recognize a member for exceptional service and assistance to others in need on an annual basis. The purpose of the award is to recognize the good works in which the 3PL industry is engaged in by highlighting a specific 3PL Samaritan effort each year.

Hurry. The deadline is fast approaching to apply for TIA’s Samaritan Award. The award recognizes a TIA member for exceptional service and assistance to others in need and will be presented at the 2019 TIA Annual Conference & Exhibition in Orlando, FL. Your application must be received no later than Fri., Jan. 18, 2019.

Cargo Logistics Canada Expo & Conference is North America’s only multimodal show, drawing 2,500+ delegates from across all supply chain sectors annually. The show also attracts many beneficial cargo owners, including executives from North America’s largest manufacturers and retailers, such as Best Buy, Hudson’s Bay Company, Lululemon, Toyota and more.

TIA, WIT, and Truckstop.com are seeking nominations for the 2019 Distinguished Woman in Logistics Award (DWLA). By their commitment to their profession, desire to further the industry's success and participation in civic and community affairs, DWLA award winners exemplify role models for other women seeking or advancing careers in logistics.

Anyone may nominate a candidate by completing and submitting the nomination form by February 8. Forms can be found here.Contact Lana Nichols, Director of Programs, Women in Trucking Association, at Lana@womenintrucking.org if you have questions.
