THA Encourages Participation in Hospital Improvement Innovation Network

Do you have a goal to take your quality and patient safety outcomes to the next level of performance? The Texas Hospital Association, in partnership with the American Hospital Association’s Health Research & Educational Trust, will be leading Texas hospitals who wish to participate in the newest health care improvement project, the Hospital Improvement Innovation Network. Supported by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, the HIIN will support the improvement process and achievement to further reduce all-cause harm by 20 percent and readmissions by 12 percent.

The HIIN will focus on the following core topics:

  • Adverse drug events
  • CAUTIs
  • CLASBIs
  • C. Diff including antibiotic stewardship
  • Injuries from falls
  • Pressure Ulcers
  • Sepsis
  • Readmissions
  • SSIs
  • VTEs, and
  • VAEs

THA is currently recruiting hospitals to participate in this important initiative. Through the HIIN, participating hospitals will:

  • Receive real-time quality and patient safety data with comparisons to Texas and hospitals throughout the country,
  • Collaborate with other hospitals leaders,
  • Obtain important best practices through up-to-date checklists, change packages and case studies, and
  • Ensure your hospital is on track toward improved outcomes.

For more information, go to www.tha.org/hiin or contact Karen Kendrick, RN, director of clinical initiatives at THA, at kkendrick@tha.org or 512/465-1091.
