Executive Director's Message: We Are…TMRA Strong!
TMRA Members and Friends: Welcome! I really mean that, as in times of challenge and stress, our message needs to be that YOU are both welcome and appreciated! For this issue, you’ll note that our theme is "We are ... TMRA Strong” with an emphasis on our 2020 Annual Meeting set for October 18-20 at The Horseshoe Bay Resort just outside of Marble Falls, Texas in the Texas Hill Country.
Our theme and our emphasis on the TMRA 2020 Annual Meeting fit perfectly together. Part of our being TMRA Strong depends on our TEAMWORK. Our TEAM has always done its best work, when that’s possible, at those times when we are Face-to-Face. Our Annual Meeting where we can ALL be together is our best opportunity each year.
Yes, we ARE presently scheduled to hold this annual event with, of course, ALL appropriate COVID-19 related protocols in place! While we may not all be fully onboard with the need for these, TMRA’s position is that Safer Is Better and, for me, I’m okay with giving up a bit of my freedom to make this event, so important to our Members and our Education effort, more open to the greatest number of our Members and Guests. I hope that you feel the same way, as each of you is important to me and to TMRA.
Along with all of the other timely information relating to our industries and Members in this edition of our eNewsletter, be sure to read our Chairman’s Letter from Jeff Mason and all of the information provided about our Annual Meeting provided by Cathy Pierce, our Planning Committee Chair.
I encourage each of you to make every effort to join us; to be engaged in how we can all be a part of TMRA Strong. Please understand and let management know that YOUR participation and the support of our Member Companies helps us all to recognize our issues; agree on our paths forward; prepare for the Texas Legislative Session that commences in January; support our Outstanding Teacher Education and Outreach efforts. Make sure “We are ... TMRA Strong!"
Stay safe and well, and we’ll see you in October!
