Executive Director's Message: Technology & Innovation

Our April Theme for this eNewsletter is “Technology & Innovation,” and our Industries and Support Members head the list on development and usage in both areas! With the very real challenges from COVID-19 to our families, communities and businesses, our ability to use technology and innovation to help weather this terrible storm comes even more into focus. Our TMRA Members know the importance of our industries and services to our economy and, importantly, never lose site of the human element to our policies and decisions.

While mining and power generation are absolutely critical/essential industries and provide services necessary to our health and well-being as well as to the economy, 100 percent of the feedback I’ve received or seen from our TMRA Members has been aimed at PROTECTING families, both health and jobs, so that our businesses, communities and economy survive and once again flourish as soon as responsibly possible. This is why mining and power generation are still ongoing while social-distancing and other safeguards are practiced to the maximum extent possible.

With the above as our ever-present backdrop, it is important to highlight some specific areas where Technology & Innovation have been brought to our attention in preparation of this eNewsletter. I hope that you’ll review and recognize these achievements while also thinking of others that we should introduce or emphasize to our Members and others that receive this publication.

Ches Blevins,
TMRA Executive Director
