Many Lessons Learned at First Joint TMRA / TACA Workshop

TMRA’s first workshop working jointly with the Texas Aggregates and Concrete Association (TACA) was a success. With many shared issues and goals, this workshop showed that Education and Outreach is an important topic for everyone.

Thank you for the opportunity to present our operations here at Hunter Cement and Hunter Stone to the TMRA education seminar.

There was something to be gained by everyone from the experience.

STRENGTHS:
• This was a real opportunity to educate educators. We were able to identify ‘real world’ applications for the subjects that they teach in their classrooms.

• They were able to meet Hunter employees and identify with their educational background and see the work that they do in our facility.

• The teachers were engaged. They were curious and asked great questions. STEM connections were obvious, but Environmental and Economic aspects became more apparent.
