Print Print this Article | Send to Colleague

On July 19, President Donald Trump issued an executive order establishing a Presidential Advisory Council on Infrastructure. The order specifies that the 15 members of the council will be appointed by the president and will represent a broad cross-section of infrastructure sectors from construction, transportation, and logistics to real estate, communications, and technology. The mission of the council will be to study the effectiveness of existing federal-aid funding and support for the delivery of infrastructure projects, and to make recommendations to the president to aid in prioritizing the nation’s infrastructure needs, accelerating pre-construction approval processes, developing new funding and financing options over the next 10 years, and identifying methods to increase public–private partnerships for infrastructure projects.
