TXAPA HOSTS UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS ENGINEERING STUDENTS

Exposing engineering students to the engineering, environmental and economic benefits of asphalt pavements is an important element of TXAPA’s industry enhancement programs. Recently TXAPA staff hosted 27 engineering students from the University of Texas at Austin at the association office and Hot Mix Asphalt Center. The engineering students were also treated to a plant tour hosted by Ramming Paving/Industrial Asphalt and Aggregates. During the visit to TXAPA, the students were given a tour of the HMAC certification laboratories and presented an update on asphalt pavement emerging technology. Information on TXAPA’s scholarship program was also distributed. Special thanks to Lance Townsend and Chuck Fuller of Ramming Paving for coordinating the event.
