  Omar Rodriguez

Omar Rodriguez joined the City of McKinney as CIO on Nov. 13.  He has more than 25 years of experience in Information Technology (IT), including 20 years in municipal government. Before joining the City of McKinney, Rodriguez was the Assistant IT Chief for Dallas County over the Project Management Organization. Prior to that, he served as the IT Director for Denton Municipal Energy, as well as various technology roles with the City of Garland, Texas.

Rodriguez graduated from Lamar University with a Bachelor of Science in Corporate Communications and a Master of Business Administration degree with an emphasis on Information Systems and Enterprise Resource Planning. He also served in the U.S. Navy.
