Raise your hand if working from home is about to make you lose your mind (My hand is raised).

While I’m hoping the end is near for many of the changes we’ve all had to make, I hope it’s not the end for all of them. The global pandemic has made us all adopt remote access and videoconferencing and accept it as the new normal. I don’t anticipate agencies across the state to maintain this level of working remotely in 6 months or a year. However, we’ve adopted all these new capabilities that we didn’t have before. Like it or not, the last couple of months have allowed (forced) several of us make great strides in our technical offerings and capabilities.

Here’s the bottom line: I hope that we are able to recognize our progress for what it is and not take a step back into our old ways.

The 2020 TAGITM Virtual Conference has been officially scheduled for September 1st – 3rd. I’m personally very excited (and a little nervous) about this new venture for our association. Please make every effort to attend as much as possible during those 3 days. You’ll get the same great content as you expect from our in-person events, as well as the chance to talk to vendors about exciting new products and services.
We have every expectation that our in-person annual conferences will resume next year. However, we want the virtual event in September to be something you all find valuable. Having said that, adding a smaller virtual event each year (in addition to the existing events) might be something we consider after we gauge the success of the September conference. That decision will be largely based on feedback from you. Please don’t ever hesitate to reach out to me, or any of the Board members, with your suggestions, feedback, opinions, etc.

Stay safe and have a great month!
