On December 7th, Rick Duncan, Executive and Technical Director of SPFA, presented a 90-minute seminar for more than 40 code officials, architects, builders, and insulation contractors in Western Connecticut. The seminar, hosted by the Connecticut Building Officials Association in Woodbury, CT, provided an overview of SPF for the building enclosure and detailed discussion of ignition and thermal barriers. SPFA members interested in having this presentation delivered to design professionals in their areas should contact Rick Duncan at rickduncan@sprayfoam.org.

North American HFC/PFAS Policy & Regulatory Updates Presented by Benson May and Joshua Shodeinde Honeywell experts will present regulatory updates on the US AIM regulation and its impact of the future use of HFC’s in spray foam. The team will then cover recent updates to the PFAS regulation, touching US State and Federal activity, and emerging Canadian activity. The team will review these with a lens on the spray foam market, focusing on supply chain, regulatory requirements, and emerging milestones.

During the past year, the SPFA Roofing Committee has made significant changes to TechDoc SPFA-104 “Spray Polyurethane Foam Systems for New and Remedial Roofing”. Included in this update are 25 color SPF roofing details, now available for download as individual AutoCAD .DXF files. These files enable contractors and design professionals to easily integrate SPF roofing into their project drawings. SPFA members can access this updated TechDoc for free on the member-only webpage. Non-members can purchase and download it from the SPFA Online Store.
