There will be an article in the upcoming issue of SPRAYFOAM PROFESSIONAL magazine on the importance of training in the SPF industry.  We are going to highlight suppliers who have training facilities. On June 22, an e-mail was sent to the primary contact for each SPFA Supplier Member asking for the location of training facility, URL for training information, and the contact info for training manager.  We’ve received some responses, but we suspect there are more training facilities that can be included.  Please send this information by EOD on Friday, July 14 to kmarcavage@sprayfoam.org.
We have also created a page on our website dedicated to this information. Even if you miss the magazine cut-off, your company’s training information will be posted here

Twenty-five percent of new construction homes are HERS-rated and the number of HERS homes nationally stands at 3.8 million and counting. Inspection, testing, and home energy performance are inclusive in a HERS-rating, but which builders are choosing to have their homes rated and what motivates them?  RESNET Program Director Ryan Meres will share the results of RESNET’s annual Data Trends of HERS-Rated Homes report, which captures information on how these homes are built as well as certification uptake by state during our next webinar. This is a great opportunity to get a snapshot of how some of the most progressive builders in the country are constructing homes.  This webinar is organized by the Insulation Industry Associations Council, of which SPFA is a member.

SPF Tech
During the past year, the SPFA Roofing Committee has made significant changes to TechDoc SPFA-104 “Spray Polyurethane Foam Systems for New and Remedial Roofing”.  Included in this update are 25 color SPF roofing details, now available for download as individual AutoCAD .DXF files.   These files enable contractors and design professionals to easily integrate SPF roofing into their project drawings.   SPFA members can access this updated TechDoc for free on the member-only webpage.  Non-members can purchase and download it from the SPFA Online Store.

Through classroom instruction and hands-on torching activities, you will learn the latest industry best safety practices for torch-applied roof systems and the teaching skills needed to train others about torch safety.
