FHWA Tech Brief: Tack Coats

The Federal Highway Administration recently released a Tech Brief highlight the best practices for tack coats. Tack coats are a sprayed application of asphalt binder that serve a crucial role in bonding multiple asphalt layers and creating durable pavements.
SCDOT and SCAPA also created a best practices document for tack coats that can be viewed on SCAPA's resources page, or can be found here. The BMP was discussed at every Partners in Quality meeting during the 2015 season.
