CPHR Saskatchewan is excited to announce the Virtual HR Forum on March 19, 2024. Register here.
As per The Chartered Professionals in Human Resources Act, on or before Feb. 1 each year, CPHR Saskatchewan will submit a membership list to the Director of Corporations, and publish a public membership directory on our website. Please ensure that your member profile is up to date, including the professional information section of your profile. Please complete this by Jan. 31, 2024.
There is still time to nominate a member for the Fellow of the Chartered Professionals in Human Resources (FCPHR) designation. The FCPHR will be awarded nationally and granted provincially by CPHR Saskatchewan. The complete guidelines as well as the nomination form can be found here. Nominations will be accepted until Jan. 31, 2024. If you know of anyone who might qualify for this esteemed designation, please consider nominating them!
Contact Conference 2024, powered by the Saskatoon Industry Education Council, is seeking HR professionals to provide invaluable insights and perspective on the crucial aspects of attraction and retention of employees in a panel discussion. This session will be held Thursday, April 18, 2024 from 1:45pm – 2:45pm at TCU Place in Saskatoon. The Canadian Agricultural Human Resource Council (CAHRC) is launching an AgriHR Community of Practice, a collaborative virtual forum for members of the agricultural community where people with shared interests connect on a regular basis to learn, generate new knowledge, and drive creative solutions to address common problems. The CAHRC is currently assembling a group of subject-matter experts who would like to participate.
Cheryl Loadman, professor on International Business with Edwards School of Business is seeking a working HR Professional from a Saskatchewan company with international experience. Cheryl and her global collaboration partner, Hong Kong Baptist University, are wanting to do a session for their students focused on "catering to employee motivation across different geographic cultures," or "how to motivate employees in your workplace who come from different cultures." This is a virtual guest speaking opportunity in the evening on Feb. 26, 2024. If you are interested in this opportunity, please email lpawlyshyn@cphrsk.ca.
Edwards School of Business is planning a student trip to Switzerland to meet and tour international organizations, such as WTO, ILO, etc. The group is also hoping to meet with Canadian/Saskatchewan connected companies (a company with an office or business relationship in Switzerland). The meetings (one hour) will focus on having the students understand how Canadian companies extend their reach internationally and the type of markets/work/products we are successfully moving internationally. They are requesting assistance from any HR professionals who may be in one of these companies and who could connect them with their Swiss office. CPHR Designation
The next NKE will take place Nov. 14, 2024. Learn more here. As of Jan.1, 2022, associate members wishing to pursue the CPHR designation and write the NKE must be NKE Ready. Being NKE Ready means associate members have met the coursework requirement and received approval from CPHR Saskatchewan prior to registering for the NKE. For those requesting transcripts, if the name on your transcripts or reports is different than your current name, please update the "maiden name" in your member profile. NKE Prep Courses There is a minimum requirement of 10 CPD hours annually and, during any three-year rolling period, a minimum of 60 CPD hours, including a three-hour ethics course. Ethics Course: There will be a new ethics course rolled out in May 2024. Information will be shared in the months to come. If you have not taken the ethics course or have taken it and need to do so again by Dec. 31, 2024, please wait for the new course. Audit: 3% of CPD submissions will be randomly audited for 2023. Those Professional Members (CPHRs) who are randomly selected will be notified in March 2024. Popular Links
