The Canadian Agricultural Human Resource Council (CAHRC) is launching an AgriHR Community of Practiceb a collaborative virtual forum for members of the agricultural community where people with shared interests connect on a regular basis to learn, generate new knowledge, and drive creative solutions to address common problems.

The AgriHR Community of Practice brings together business owners, HR professionals, stakeholders and industry experts who share interest in best practices and emerging trends in HR in Canadian agriculture. To meet the interests of all members, CAHRC will support a number of activities including webinars, expert Q & A, online chat and discussion groups on emerging topics of interest.

To that end, the CAHRC is currently assembling a group of subject-matter experts who would like to participate in one or several of the proposed activities. Based on the field of expertise, individuals could participate in one or several events and activities by assuming various roles: participate as an expert in a panel discussion, host a Q & A session on topics of interest by the CoP, co-facilitate a webinar relevant to their field of practice, and assist with the content development.

Estimated time commitment will be between 2 and 4 hours per month starting from February 2024, and will vary depending on the role and responsibilities needed to carry out successfully a designated event. Funding is available to compensate experts with the initial setup of the community during the months of February and March 2024.

All activities will be associated with key HR areas:

  • Recruitment, Selection, and Hiring
  • Compensation and Benefits
  • Worker Performance
  • Succession Planning
  • Workforce
  • HR Policies
  • Health and Safety
  • Workplace Wellness
  • Diversity and Inclusion
  • Temporary Foreign Workers and Immigration

If you are interested in participating, please contact Viktoria Schuler, project manager, HR services at vschuler@cahrc-ccrha.ca for more information.
