Survey - HR Professionals in Canada: Examining Workplace Affordances & Engagement

Study title: Human resource professionals in Canada: Examining workplace affordances and engagement and links among gender, age, rank, and race.
 
Study purpose: The purpose this study is to examine human resource professionals’ views of opportunities that they have to learn in their workplaces as well as the extent to which they engage in those learning activities. The study also examines the foregoing issues in terms of various elements such as age, rank, race, and gender. The research is intended to improve understanding of the workplace learning of this large and important professional group.
 
Who can take part in this study? Members of CPHR Saskatchewan can participate in the survey.
 
What will participants be asked to do? Participants will be asked to review a letter of invitation, and should they decide to participate in the survey they will be asked to provide their informed consent by reviewing a letter of informed consent and then entering the survey site.
 
The survey contains a total of 63 items and will take approximately 15-20 minutes to complete online. The survey has 55 closed-ended statements about learning opportunities and engagement in your organization, and eight closed-ended statements about demographic factors such as age, race, rank, gender, professional certification, and province of practice/employment.
 
Anonymity and confidentiality: Participation in this study is entirely voluntary and participants may decline participation or withdraw at any time from the study without penalty. Their participation is strictly anonymous because once they submit the survey there will be no direct link between them and their answers. Survey results are to be used by the researchers identified below for presentation at academic venues, such as journals and conferences, and various presentations might be made to some professional human resource management groups.
