Metsä Tissue Finalizes First Phase of Operational Review

The first phase of the operational review of Tissue Operations has been finalized in Metsä Tissue, which is part of the Metsä Group. The following appointments and changes are made in order to support internal efficiency and reduce complexity.

Kari Karttunen has been appointed vice president, production to Mänttä mill.

Tomas Lindstrand has been appointed interim vice president, production to Swedish mills.

Dirk Hammann has been appointed interim vice president, production to Raubach mill.

Markus Claaßen is currently acting vice president napkins at the Stotzheim mill. He will start as vice president, production at the Raubach mill at latest on 1. July 2020.

Gero Kronen has been appointed vice president, production to Kreuzau mill.

Pawel Ehrlich has been appointed vice president, production to Krapkowice mill.

Lubomír Kotula has been appointed vice president, production to Žilina mill.

Vice presidents, production are also members of the local Sales & Operations teams (S&OP). 

Two new positions have been established in the Operations.

Ari Vehviläinen has been appointed vice president, development programs. He will focus on strategic projects, such as the Future Tissue Mill concept development.  

Vice president, operations development is a new position. The role will consist of the development of the mill operations to drive the maximum business performance with other functions. A person to this position will be appointed later.

All above mentioned persons will report to senior vice president, Operations, Jari Tiura.

These appointments and changes were valid as of April 2019. Operational review continues and decisions regarding next phase will be communicated separately.
