SCA, producer of the Tork® brand of Away-from-Home (AfH) hygiene products, has announced its Corporate Champion Sponsorship with the Association for the Healthcare Environment (AHE), an organization of professionals responsible for the patient and resident care environment across all care settings. The strengthening of this strategic relationship is focused on a key priority shared by both organizations—sustainability.

As a 2016 Corporate Champion, SCA will play a stronger role in helping AHE achieve its strategic mission and vision. SCA will sponsor key initiatives of AHE, including the Environmental Service Department of the Year Award, the Environmental Sustainability Certificate Program, and Tool Kit, all designed to recognize outstanding sustainability efforts of healthcare facilities and provide guidance for conducting exemplary environmentally sustainable healthcare operations. With sustainability as the backbone of SCA, the organizations will work together to support successful sustainability endeavors.

"It is an honor to join forces with AHE to build upon its outstanding achievements in healthcare environmental services," stated Tom Bergin, marketing director for AfH Professional Hygiene business at SCA North America. "We are proud to work together in an effort to advocate for environmental sustainability and further leverage initiatives dedicated toward promoting best practices and education in environmental hygiene, and even more specific issues such as hand hygiene compliance."

SCA remains a sustainability leader by delivering solutions backed by safe, resource-efficient and environmentally sound sourcing, production, and development. Through its Tork brand of AfH professional hygiene products, the company has acquired significant knowledge thanks to its long-standing commitment towards helping healthcare facilities work smarter and supporting them through day-to-day critical moments. Becoming a Corporate Champion further extends this commitment, as SCA looks forward to contributing to the advancement sustainability and hygiene in healthcare environments alongside AHE.
