TAPPI Standards in Ballot
The TAPPI Standards regulations require public review of standards that are up for ballot. Send a message to standards@tappi.org if you want to request a copy of draft in ballot. Listed below are TAPPI Standards that have recently gone out for ballot to the corresponding Standard-Specific Interest Group (SSIG). The date in parentheses is the closing date for voting. T 800 cm-06 "Drum test for fiberboard shipping containers (revolving hexagonal drum)" (March 31, 2016) SSIG Members Needed
All Standard-Specific Interest Groups (SSIG) require a minimum of 10 members in order to ballot and vote on a draft of a method.
T 602 cm-06 "Analysis of sulfuric acid" needs one more member to join the SSIG. T 438 cm-06 "Zinc and cadmium in paper" requires three more SSIG members for ballot. T 578 sp-11 "Accelerated light aging of printing and writing paper by xenon-arc exposure apparatus" needs just one more SSIG member. If no progress is made on these ballots, then they might be considered for withdrawal at the next QSMC meeting. Announcement of SARG Meeting
The next meeting of the Standards Advisory Review Group (SARG) is
will take place in Cincinnati, OH, at the TAPPI 2016 PaperCon Conference, Wednesday, May 18, 2016, at 1:30 pm Eastern time. SARG approval is the last step
prior to publication for any new or revised standard.
In order to act on any appeals from TAPPI members relevant to the
standards up for approval, the SARG meeting is open to anyone for participation.
The agenda will be posted on the SARG page at least 50 days prior to the
meeting, in accordance with TAPPI’s guidelines. There will be links from the
agenda items to the final drafts that are up for approval.
